Concordance search
When I am translating a piece of software, I usually don’t use an explicit glossary. Rather, I look for similar source texts in the same file. Using the search function for that distracts me, since then I have to remember the ID I’m currently translating, and I cannot see all the translations at a single glance.
For example, I selected a word from the source text an right-clicked on it. I wished for a menu entry saying “Show translations from this file/TM that have this word in their source text” (ok, maybe a little shorter, but anyway).
Right now, at the right side of the screen, there are some translation suggestions, and below them there is plenty of space where such information could be displayed.
This could also be a menu item below View > Sidebar that shows this info box in the side bar. When enabled, double-clicking (maybe even single-clicking) on a word in the source text would show the translations from the current file and from the TM in this info box. Fetching these translations would happen in the background, so that the UI doesn’t become less responsive.
This is called “concordance search” and is on my wishlist — for some future version.
Note: #463 has nice discussion of the same, worth reading in addition to this.
