Error when using media control keys on keyboard

When pressing any of the volume up/down, next, prev, play/pause, stop buttons on my keyboard, the following error is logged:

[14:50:11] [main/ERROR]: 65539: Invalid mouse button 99

Interestingly, while VLC is open in the background, the play/pause button no longer throws this error, the rest still do

Think I know why this happening. A fix won't be pushed until some larger changes are ready.
