Command "systemctl restart wireless" leads to wifi not being connected anymore

When executing "systemctl restart wireless". The wireless connection is not established again and I need to reboot my whole system. I already completely reinstalled volumio with latest version but issue is still there. Initial problem was that volumion disconnects from wifi in general after one day. I think the wireless reconnect/restart is the problem here. I have no idea how to set anything in the log files. There seems to be nothing interesting in "journal". Ethernet connetion is not lost, it is just that wifi is not able to reconnect.

Setup: Raspberry Pi 2 connected via Wifi Fritz Repeater to Fritzbox 6591 Wifi Dongle (EDIMAX WNxxx Hife Berry DAC (Toslink) Location is Germany
