split replaces whole window, and when program exits window (and tab) closes.

I am using floaterm to make a run current file keybind, but the whole window gets replaced with the floaterm and when it exits the window (and tab with it) closes. How do i make it open a new window instead of replacing the window?

Please provide some more info, like are you on neovim/vim, what is g:floaterm_wintype etc.
