I personally would love to create and be part of this system where we have open source cursor with all the features. Happy to help in any level.

As far as I'm aware the lead dev is currently working on a major update.

and the lack of updates is because they are focusing on bigger changes

Check Cortexide out https://github.com/OpenCortexIDE/cortexide

It adds more features to Void and is active.
