are xbps-rindex too slow

i try to use local repository but xbps-rindex -a dir take, much much time, i have 3G in this `dir``
it's that normal9

Hard to answer anything. How many files are there? How much time it takes? What type of storage are do you use? Why do you need to call xbps-rindex -a, are you indexing packages not built yourself with xbps-src - these are indexed by xbps-src already? Do you use RSA signing?

Precisely, xbps-rindex -a dir should fail immediately as it takes paths to .xbps files and not directory path.

  • I have a laptop Asus R511L with Nvidia 820M
  • I try to use GPU with Xorg + dwm windows manager
  • I don't have wifi in my home

so I'm trying to backup all xbps apps that have already been installed to /path/to/myxbps
then, I start from scratch to test all possibilities with nvidia or nouveau for that, I need to create my own local repository, but field.

$ xbps-rindex -a /path/to/myxbps/*
$ xbps-install curl wget git make ....
