Following previous discussions in currently open PRs for 4.5.1 and 4.4.2, it seems like the suggestion in this comment is a good idea. Given that R and all R-* packages except one are currently almost 2.5 years out of date, requiring users to set and manage their own .libPaths or whatever, which still works, seems like a better alternative.
You needs to update all R packages, or at least rebuild them.
@sgn I'm suggesting that all R CRAN packages be removed from void. They can be installed trivially by users on their own as indicated previously, and that will not change. Users have to install many R packages besides them either way, and providing a very small subset in this repository does not change that. Maintaining those void packages is a lot of work that clearly no one is up for. Unless someone volunteers to update and maintain all of void's R packages and keep doing it long term, they are now and will continue to be entirely useless.
