The same issue for me on Void 6.6.35_1 x86_64
Plasma was update to 6.1.3 and I wonder why this issues is still around!
I got this error:
file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.weather/contents/ui/main.qml:438:25: Type FullRepresentation unavailable
file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.weather/contents/ui/FullRepresentation.qml:38:24: Cannot assign object of type "QQC2.Action" to property of type "Action_QMLTYPE_148*" as the former is neither the same as the latter nor a sub-class of it.
Hope this help in any way.
Come on guys! Plasma 6.2 and still this bug happens. Any idea when this will be fixed?
has this been reported to the kde developers?
has this been reported to the kde developers?
I think this is something about Void Linux, because I run others Linux distros like TuxedoOS, Kubuntu, Neon KDE (which I am running right now!) and I can not see this issues. But I am a bit of hop Linux distro, and I would like to try out VoidLinux again.

This is not fixed yet, since I was not able to reproduce it yet.
I just watched your linked Video. You are not using the Plasma Weather widget but some third party one?

I had have tried with both.
Here is a video of fresh new Void Linux installation and the error happens.

I can also report that this problem is happening on my device using the widget installed by the Void plasma metapackage. This is not happening on Arch Linux, since that's a distribution I also run.
I can confirm that the problem is still present to the day! (April 23rd 2025)
When activated on the status area (or as separate widget) the Weather closes down with no (apparent) errors short after it went out looking for the location that has been typed in.
Void with kernel linux-6.14.2.1 and plasma 6.3.3
I confirm also (as already sid by @loukamb) that the problems doesn't exist on Arch and Fedora.
In my experience this kind of stuff in Void comes often from missing parts/packages that in (most of the) other distros come installed by default or as dependencies, and it's a hunt of a kind, not least due to the very "insider-oriented" (and at times frustrating) documentation. I couldn't dig deep enough to get to the point here.
Hope it's getting somewhere, it's an irritating little quirk that adds up to the already bumpy experience, at least for me.
I love Void for many reasons, but there must always be something there keeping me to adopt it as my main distro.
Same issue here. Currently on plasma 6.3.3.
I tried to read the Xorg log file and I found this:

Had this issue for a long time, but still present on Plasma 6.4.3.
Yeps, can confirm! Updated to 6.4.3 and now kwin even blanks as soon as the widget goes out to fetch data. Come on, it's most likely a missing package... I just find Void as lovely, fast, reliable and clean as it is ruff (also in the documentation) unless you made it... At least now Plasma fixed the other issue seeing programs starting if you tried to re-arrange your favorites. (that has nothing to do with Void, but with quality of life)
Yep, can confirm that still happening on 6.4.3 on both xorg and wayland:
Even 3P widgets donΒ΄t work, the only ones that works are the ones that get the location by IP addrs. The widgets that we need to input the location are the broken ones.
A late happy birthday for this issue!! ππ₯³πππππ
Hey guys, I've poked around with the packages and gdb and I've fixed it for myself. Maybe it'll work for you all as well.
I've installed these:
qt6-location qt6-position qt6-plugin-networkinformation
After a reboot, the location input worked correctly and stopped crashing plasmashell.

That fixed it for me, thank you.

You nailed.... Thanks
Wait wait!
I just updated the system, and I WAS qt6-plugin-networkinformation being installed. I rebooted and the damn weather widget started working without crashing the entire world!
Are you saying that yes it took years, but finally this issue took effect distro-wide now and already? And on a fresh install things will work?
I have still mixed feelings with Void, the documentation is great for those that knows it all, but not much for those on a learning curve, and it gets me often frustrated. There are still catches and missing packages (even if I wanted to compile them), I had to fight with PipeWire quite a bit every time, MuseScore and MuseSounds don't work for several reasons and as a musician that means a lot. On the other hand I love this distro because it is straight forward, fast and down to the bones, and would happily embrace it on a wider scale. My little home-server has been running on Void for years now and the experiments on this thread I have done on a spare machine, indeed to test the waters.
Cheers!! And THANK YOU!
