Feature request: Windows Server 2016 container support
There is interest in deploying Windows containers in my environment, and I would prefer to hand the developers a VCH endpoint instead of a VM or physical server. It would be great if we could get Windows Server 2016 container support in VIC.
Thanks @nerdybarry. Windows containers are something we will be looking into. @karthik-narayan for tracking purposes
IMHO: container market is a battlefield. Having a x86 abstraction layer as VIC has and thus being able to deploy linux and windows containers within the same environment is a quite unique competitive advantage. You guys should really push on that. I see large enterprise companies asking for exactly this.
same here, we need would like to use VIC, but we windows containers.
VIC Windows support continues to be a conversation with a number of my clients. The use case for migrating older apps running on 2003 server repackaging to a Docker Image and running on a Windows Container platform is a strong use case.

We have strong use cases for this as well
Here as well. We have old .NET apps we want to containerize. Another group is ready to set up VIC because they already have a relationship with VMWare, but VIC currently will not work for us.
Here as well! We don't only have old .NET apps which would be perfect for containerization, also new .NET apps are being continously developed which would greatly profit from being run inside containers - where support from VIC would be a great help.
just adding my name to say we're really interested in windows support.
thanks everyone. we will talk about this internally and prioritize the ask
