Implementing Kubernetes cost monitoring/allocation is particularly challenging give the dynamic nature of pod scheduling and that production environments often have multiple tenants per cluster. This make it so accurate chargeback strategy while optimizing your cloud spend can be a difficult. The Kubecost open source project was created to help teams address this and is used by thousands of organizations.

Proposal is to have a session about open source tools that can help make sense of those cost + efficiency observability. We can show how teams can leverage Kubecost to gain cost visibility and optimization insights for your company’s Kubernetes consumption. In this talk we can also introduce some industry guidelines to help you implement the best chargeback strategy for your own cloud environments.
