Thank you for the report. This is because global menu defaults to Left Alt and overrides any other action. You can fix this by right clicking in the menu bar in the top -> Configure... -> And change the shortcut key to something else (for example, Right Alt). I think it is indeed confusing, I will try to change the default button.
