udplog causes nginx status page to report incorrect metrics

I'm running ubuntu 10.04 x86 on amazon ec2 with nginx 0.8.54.

when I add access_udplog localhost; to my config, the nginx status page returns incorrect metrics: the connections in reading and waiting states grows indefinitely.
