Template Title Sync
If I create a scene template with extra tags I want to track, in the templates folder. A bug or what I don't expect happens when I create a novel document using that template. Instead of changing the internal title (one used in outline view) to reflect the title I would've typed when creating the document; it doesn't.
And I have to follow through by opening the document and changing the titles manually.
This is not a bug. The templates are mainly there so you can pre-define a structure for your scenes and notes. They were in particular designed for character notes and such where you may have a fixed structure of headers and character information.
When using the template, it is simply copied. novelWriter will never edit your documents.
I'm tagging this as a feature request instead, and I'll look into if there is a sensible way to add support for this.

Thanks, i've grown fond of this program and can't help making some workflow easier. Sorry for the trouble.
Oh, it's no trouble 😃
I'm thinking about adding a checkbox in the pop-up box for new documents only that would allow the first title in the document to be replaced by the entered label.
It is a design principle that novelWriter will never edit your files for you, but in this case it is creating a new one, so the principle still holds. Other parts of the code will generate new files from existing content already.
