Exclude specific documents within a project from global search?

Open ahoythedinghy opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

I have several revisions in the same story each stored as novels in the same project.

I like the new global search feature. However, I have some names and such that I want to search for and replace, but I do not want to do so across the earlier revisions of the story, I only want to search the current revision.

Using the global search tool, I can't seem to find a way to have some of my documents excluded. I do recognize that the existing search function is there, I just find the global search interface easier to navigate quickly.

My suggestion, if it's feasible, would be to have documents that have been toggled to an "inactive" state excluded from global search. However, any approach that allowed me to see results only from some documents would work.

Thank you!

The global search tool is quite basic as it is now, and it was always my intention to extend it. Adding filtering options is one such feature. So yes, I can certainly add a way to exclude inactive documents. I also plan to add filters for root folders.

There will only be minor changes to the search tool in the next release, 2.5, but I can add this for 2.6.
