I there a way to get deleted files back?

Aha! This is a very valid point. Thank you so much for surfacing this frustration!

Revision history data is there, but it's not yet surfaced in the app. It's on the roadmap to support revision history. Raising this issue is a great nudge for us to get this feature working soon. I'll post here when it's possible to view and restore previous versions, which I think is the best way to solve for accidentally deleted files.

Revision history is so close to working!

Will post here when it's ready to test out.

Current status:

For first launch of revision history:

  • [x] List previous versions and show thumbnails for each
  • [x] Click a thumbnail to open the viz at that version
  • [x] In versioned viz page: run the viz as it was at that version
  • [x] In versioned viz page: show last updated date based on version date
  • [x] In versioned viz page: temporarily disable all non-working features (editor, export, full screen, all modals, revision history navigator)
  • [x] In versioned viz page: when opening revision history, show the open commit as current version

For revision history refinement:

  • [ ] In versioned viz page: Restore the viz to previous version
  • [ ] In versioned viz page: explore files in the editor as they were at that version
  • [ ] In versioned viz page: export files as they were at that version

@brettforbes The first version of Revision History is live! Try it out! That should let you get the old files back. You can see the files in the editor. Downloading at a previous revision is not ready yet.
