Looks horrible in Windows

When viewed at 18px font size in Windows Chrome, the arrow ligature looks horrible. There is something different about the way the font is rendered on Windows as compared to Linux.

this is most likely a windows issue, not a font issue.

if you look at the screenshot, the font size is different
