Guessing I have some RAM issues 🙁. Started seeing this error for the first time today.

Is it possible for the error to give me some pointers, or check memory earlier in the process? Win3.1 and other games seem to still work.

Cheers!

Yes, this error appears when there is no more available RAM. Can you share what you were testing and the system specs? Thanks!

I've uploaded a new version (1.1.2) that uses less memory, can you try it? Thanks!

Sorry it's been a while. Good news is that it's not you - it's me... I tested with Doom 1 shareware and get a memory error too.

For reference here's FDOOM 0.9.5 and 1.1.4 trying to run:

OK figured it out - my memory was allocated to Expanded instead of Extended in my BIOS. For some reason Toshiba T5200s seem to default to setting Extended = 2MB and Expanded = everything else. Once I set all the RAM to Extended all was happy again. Hope I didn't waste your time!

That makes sense, there were only 128 KB available for zone memory (which is too low). BTW how much memory do you have installed in your T5200?

Just over 13MB, which i believe is maxed out
