Bar Charts: set to 100% if negative values present

Open Kronmar-Bafu opened this issue 4 months ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug One can currently set an an axis to 100% in a vertical or horizontal bar chart, even if the they contain negative values.

To Reproduce For vertical charts: https://visualize.admin.ch/de/v/rF7Nnd37gjVe For horizontal chart: https://int.visualize.admin.ch/de/v/cztvyRzRbMLE

Expected behavior One should not be able to set axis to 100% if they contain negative values. It's not clear, what a such a "normalization" in such a case should be. The option should be grayed out with maybe a hover tooltip "Chart contains negative values" or something along those lines (to be discussed if this fits into the whole product, or if it simply should be grayed out without comment).

Screenshots or video Image On the left, Visualisierungsmodus, the 100% should be grayed out, as negative values exist in the data.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • Visualize environment and version: for the vertical chart: v5.2.4; for horizontal chart: v5.9.0
  • Browser and version Edge Version 138.0.3351.109
