12-wire system?

Open gilesmartin opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Has anyone worked with a 12-wire system? The wires seem to be split out into 4-wire and 8-wire so I am assuming the 4-wire side would be where I would install the device.

This is a Coleman Saluspa model 54131E

Wow, how many variations do they do?! Good pics, but hard to tell. Those four wires could be data lines since they have RC filters. In that case Vcc and GND are probably among the 8. But what are the rest for? Parallel data? If I have to guess, I'd say "not compatible".

in some of the photos of 6-wire installations the markings on the first 6 wires appear to be the same...wondering if this would work as an 6-wire system if i splice those wires off to a different connector cable_conn_opposite_side

Took a look at the other side of the cable. Looks like the 5v and gnd are the “.” And “-“ on that cable

Judging from your picture, the pump side appears to have no brain, so it's a completely different architecture. I think the display contains the motherboard that controls all the relays and stuff through the 12 wires. It will not work with this device I'm afraid. Maybe buying another (6-wire) pump on ebay is a better option.
