I'm a bit late, and still using and preferring Mavericks 10.9.5, but just wanted to say a big Thank You for your Minimal Status Bar extension I came across via an article: http://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/02/25/minimal-status-bar-safari-extension/

Finally my old senior's eyes can actually read the url in the SAFARI now modified status window.
