Field Data Editor appears to have swing issues

The Field Data Geometry editor frank make appears to be suffering from non-swing threads operating in swing-space. There could be further problems, but for now the panel is completely unusable. Panel disabled because of #1316, but this feature would be nice to restore.

The panel in question appears to be "OverlayEditorPanelJAI.java"
