You can access the /stats URI on whatever Searx instance you use. I just did it on disroot.org's Searx box, and got stats for the search engines they have configured.
While doing some experimenting I ran into something else - POSTs require a request body. The parameters can't be passed as part of the URL. searchd definitely doesn't support this....

Well, I'm an idiot. I upgraded my box to Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS tonight to test this, and everything blew up in my face.
