Can AmpliconArchitect be used on other species, like sheep?

Dear Viraj, My reaearch are mainly focused on small ruminants, like sheep and goat. I hope to know that is it possible to use AmpliconArchitect on these species? Will you give it such features in the future?

Hi @chaotianle ,

In theory this should work as long as you can create a data_repo for the genome of interest. If you are interested in creating a reference repo, I am happy to set up a call with you to explain how such a repo can be created. You can email me for this. My gmail id is the same as my github id.

Dear Viraj,

As all my data were mapped to hg38, I was wondering if it's OK to do the reconstruction based on hg38. If so, could you also kindly help me with the preparation of data_repo for hg38. The fa and fai files are easy to find and download, however the rest of the files are clueless. @virajbdeshpande Thanks!

Hi @wangjuan001 , we are planning to release the annotation for hg38 within a week or so, please look out for updates which will be reflected in the README.

Hello @virajbdeshpande! Thank you for your tool. Are you still planning to release the annotation for hg38?

Hello @annahoge, Yes, I am in the process of testing this. In the meanwhile you can find a link to the beta version of the GRCh38 catalog here: https://github.com/jluebeck/AmpliconArchitect
