Poor results on my own images?

Thanks a lot for the code, i got it running on my own system and can reproduce your excellent benchmark results.

However, using it on other images, there are severe issues, and I am trying to understand why that is. Maybe someone can point me into the right direction here?

As you can see, there is a lot of ghosting going on, and parts of the shadows (soft and hard) are untouched or barely modified. Also, there is a noticable red-shift in the output. What is going on here?
