macOS 15 Sequoia Developer Beta 1 (15.0 Beta (24A5264n))

MacBook Pro 16" 2021 M1Max 64GB Internal Soundcard || Focusrite 2i2 3rd Gen || M-Track 2x2

Everything works as expected, same as in 14.5 stable.

One Additional thing: I have it set to auto-launch on login, I now get an empty "LosslessSwitcher Settings" Window opening everytime, funny

I will update the readme compatibility table with your findings. Thanks for testing it on macOS 15!

Assuming its a beta bug, for now

For me, the app stops and only rotating loading icon appears on my mouse pointer when sampling frequency changes on macOS sequoia. How should I fix it?

ileeric avatar Sep 02 '24 14:09 ileeric

Screenshot 2024-09-02 at 11 03 50 PM The app freezes and uses insane amount of CPU while being unreasonable.

can you provide a step-by-step instruction on how to reproduce this? Also, what Audio Interface are you using and on what Machine, and what macOS Sequoia version?

I just played the music through Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen model, using macOS 15.1 beta 3. There's no specific way to reproduce this error, as it just happens every time the sampling frequency changes.

Please try to be more specific, like:

  • are you using Apple Music? What Service Provider or Player are you using?
  • Provide a Link to what Song you were trying to Play
  • Provide the Build number of your macOS Version, also: is it Public or Dev Beta?
  • have you tried rebooting your mac &or relaunching LosslessSwitcher?
  • Do you use any other Software related to your Soundcard, like Audio Plugins (Waves, Native Instruments, Universal Audio etc.), ACE Driver (AudioHijack, Loopback etc.) or something similar?
  • Does this issue also persist when using a different Soundcard, like your built-in Speakers or Headphones output from your mac?

also: Please Provide Information about your computer:

  • is it a Macbook? What Model?
  • does it use an apple M chip (ARM) Processor?

@ileeric Sorry for the poor experience faced when using the app on macOS Sequoia.

Unfortunately, I currently do not have a spare Mac to run the beta OS. However, please try v1.1.1 beta, which I have just released.

The rationale behind the recompilation, is that, I've seen odd behaviours on apps build for watchOS 10, when run on watchOS 11, which are somehow resolved when built using the beta SDK.

Although that may not be the case here (since its macOS after all), I reckon it's worth a try.

Sorry for the late reply. I am currently using Apple Music and trying to listen to https://music.apple.com/ca/album/love-wins-all/1731352613?i=1731352617, https://music.apple.com/ca/album/square-2017/1490544506?i=1490544823 I am using macOS 15.1 developer beta 3 on 14" MacBook Pro 2021 (M1 Pro). I tried rebooting/reinstalling the app 3+ times. I use several softwares for my DAW, but none of them were launched. Yes, it happens with my internal speakers and headphone jacks too

Unfortunately, the new 1.1.1 beta has the same problem, and the only difference is that it defaults to 88.2kHz when opening.

LosslessSwitcher Settings

I also encounter the already discussed issue. Just adding the screenshot here.

Can confirm the issue is solved with this version:

Setup: Apple Music on Mac mini M2 --> USB C --> EverSolo Z8

Since upgrade to Mac OS 15.4, the app stopped working. It doesn't switch the Bit Depth and\or sample rate now.

It was working with few glitches until Mac OS 15.3.1

same here,

Same issue here, updated to 15.4 and no longer functions.

Hello All, i have the same issue, it does not switch:

Sequoia 15.4 LossLess Switch Version 1.1.1 Build 20 Any news on resolution?

Ivan84git avatar Apr 12 '25 07:04 Ivan84git

I also have this issue. Lossless switcher does not work. v1.1 Build 18

Mac mini M1 (2020) Sequoia 15.4 Apple Music

I recently started using SoundSource for EQ. I'm not sure if that had something to do with things not working: https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/

I have uninstalled SoundSource and its backend components. That didn't help.

I tried updating to v1.1.1 Build 19, and that also didn't help.

Went back to v1.0 - and that works!

I just purchased a new M4 MacBook Air running MacOS Sequoia (15.4.1) and the Lossless Switcher is not detecting and switching rates. It seems to stay locked to whatever the Audio Midi Setup app is running. I changed it manually to different rates, even exited and re-launched the Lossless Switcher app, and it still doesn't detect music rates and switch the Midi settings. I am running Version 1.1 Build 12 which was the working version on my previous Intel MacBook Pro, running an older MacOS. I read through some notes and was trying to determine which release to try, but I really didn't see anything confirming that the issue is fixed in another release. I also get the empty Lossless Switcher settings window displayed when I boot the computer, or exit and re-launch the Lossless Switcher app.

This thread was originally intended to gather beta feedback - as the beta is long gone, and we should collect issues more effectively, this will be considered closed.

15.4 not switching is being handled by #161 #162 .

Thanks for all the feedback, and make sure to come back for the macOS 16 beta! ;)
