Link groups or group members to profiles
I'm not entirely sure what the best solution would be, so I'll outline the use case.
Imagine a group of players playing together in various constellations. They have corresponding profiles and stashes. Right now they either have to join a specific group or all join the same group and enable/disable group members depending on who's playing together.
To solve this one could eithhger link groups to profiles or save enabled/disabled group members per profile. Maybe I'm missing a better solution, though?
I think I understand. I think a suitable first step here would be to store enabled/disabled group members locally for you, before mixing in profiles in the logic. Not sure how we would go about connecting profiles to group without confusing things for the user, but will consider some possible solutions. The problem is that the toolbar and profile settings are very decoupled from the group logic, UX-wise.
Leaving this open and will try to see what we can come up with, thanks a lot for the input!
Quick join as mentioned in #368 would be a suitable workaround I guess. That would mean changing two things (profile + group) in case someone joins/leaves in game.
To reiterate the issue: We're usually a group of 4, splitting loot based on who's present. So any combination (player 1+2, 1+2+3, ... you get the idea) is possible in game. We have group-setup-matching stash tabs, where we dump loot and split it later. Before Exilence Next, we didn't split anything below 10c value to reduce micromanagement, as changing stash tabs in old exilence was a lot more effort than simply changing a profile.
Hope this makes the use-case (linking groups and/or group members to certain profiles) a bit clearer.
