Allow pre-storing area for offline use
Let's say I want to cache Manila, PH at different zoom levels for offline use later.
Currently I must sweep around at each zoom level, to get them into the cache.
https://www.offline-maps.net/en/help/maps/stored/store-area has an idea, where we can do that as a batch job.
(Yes, there may be more fancy ways by downloading .tar files of tiles, etc. But I'm not talking about those.)
In fact Google Maps on mobile also has a "Download an area" function where one chooses a bounding box.
Anyway, remember to automatically get lower zoom levels too. I mean if I want some region at zoom 17, what's the harm in also getting 1..16? They're not as big, bytewise.
There is already a feature available from Right Click menu on a Map on the left Panel: Download Maps in Zoom Levels
This opens a dialog to enable requesting the download of maps for the region in the viewport over a specified number of Tiled Web Map zoom levels. The download method type can be specified to help limit the number of requests.
Okay I'll try it next month when I get back for my holiday tour, and give you the feedback.
