Caption Control on iOS bugged

Open musterknabe opened this issue 8 months ago • 2 comments

Current Behavior:

Captions On/Off button of the Default Layout is not in sync with native iOS caption control in fullscreen. iOS Control does not really work. If you change the track captions are disabled.

Expected Behavior:

Native and DOM caption control should be in sync and work.

Steps To Reproduce:

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. On an iPhone
  2. See a video with captions
  3. Go to full screen mode, tap the dot menu (...) and change or disable the subtitles track.
  4. Subtitles are disabled in full screen
  5. Subtitle are present in inline player, button shows captions are active

Would be worth providing a link to an example, I can't replicate this issue when trying in my own setup. it's working as expected.

I can reproduce it on the Demo site. At first it worked as expected, but after fiddling a bit around the sync is now broken on the demo site for me.

Maybe it has something to do with reloading in between? The vidstack GUI always starts with subs on, while the iOS player persists the last state between reloads.

Case 1: Vidstack GUI Subs: off Image

iOS Player Subs: English Image

Case 2: Vidstack GUI Subs: on Image

iOS Player Subs in menu: off Image

iOS Player Subs on screen: on Image
