Image editing for teasers with the built in media editor

Can we use the WP media editor to edit images uploaded in Arlima admin? It would be sweet and would give us the chance to drop Scissors support (since that plugin isn't updated anymore). If we can't use the WP media editor we might be able to use the WP_image_editor class (http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Image_Editor) to do the same things as Scissors did.

:+1: Dropping scissors would be lovely :) ... Does wordpress have support for watermarks out-of-the-box?
