Hi,

am unable to see custom data

I have copied my vg file into exampleData I have successfully created the index with prepare_vg.sh

And restarted the server but the data is not proposed in the drop down menu

You say : "restart the server and choose custom (mounted files) from the data dropdown in the UI to be able to pick from the files in your data folder." but I don't see such choice

I'm suffering from the same issue. Followed the directions exactly (replacing the dataPath variable in src/config.json with the absolute path to the data directory) and am not seeing any "custom (mounted files)" option in the browser. I have also tried placing files in the exampleData directory, as per the OP, with the same result. Finally, tried adding another entry in "DATA_SOURCES" within config.json, explicitly pointing to the custom files, but no corresponding entry appeared in the dropdown menu.

Seconding this. attempted to reinstall the software and still suffer the issue. The data selection in browser does not have the "upload"/"mounted" option described in the help page.

Found a solution for the local installation (online demo is still not allowing uploads): Selecting "custom" in dropdown menu, continuing into "configure tracks", clicking on "+" and selecting own data from the last dropdown. Own data needs to be mounted in the sequenceTubeMap "exampleData" subdir and requires an accompanying vg index file.
