Shields now protect against even more stuff
There were a few more things that bypassed shields and directly affected someone.
- Hyposprays and autoinjectors (when even unarmed hugs can get blocked by a shield, how can these bypass them altogether?)
- Cyber horror attacks (this also means player-controlled cyber horrors now have a chance to inject targets)
- Fruits that could get squished when thrown at a target and splash their chemicals all over a target (the chemicals no longer physically phase through shields)
The shield will now protect against those. Also fixes a shield bug and allows them to work on carbons when defending against simple-mobs.
:cl:
- tweak: Shields will now protect against hyposprays/autoinjectors, a cyber horror's injection attack and squishable fruits.
- rscadd: Player-controlled cyber horrors now have a proper random chance to inject someone with nanobots per attack instead of being unable to do so.
- bugfix: Monkeys, martians and possibly even xenomorphs will now properly defend themselves with shields when attacked by creatures.
player controlled horrors don't even exist, unless you mindmachine yourself into one
Aye but it coincidentally fixes that.
Does the shield just flatout block all fruits, or does a pacid fruit melt the shield, essentially giving you one time protection?
Flat-out blocked. Might have the reaction done against the shield instead which would be interesting.
Don't really like that. It should damage or dissolve the shield, since you can just pour pacid on an unwielded shield and it'd melt.
I looked at the code and it's unfeasible to do it unfortunately (at least without modifying even more files). There are multiple things that may count as a shield (including the ninja's holograms or the teleport reactive armor) despite not blocking things in a conventional way and it would take some extensive amount of extra code to make it know which shield was used for blocking too.
Eh you can pour acid on unworn clothes and they melt too, worn and carried items just become more robust magically it's fine.
