Refectoring code

Have you considered refactoring the channel-config code? The file is nearly 2000 lines and a bit difficult to work with.

I mean it's not not going to happen eventually. But these things come when it's time for them to come. Eventually all of the tools will be moved to endpoints so a refactor is kind of inevitable there.
