After today's Steam update rolling back some changes, the game now crashes with a "fatal error" at the splash screen.

Incidentally the GE version of Proton now works again after the steam update; albeit with constant server disconnects.

Yes please. I just switched to doas from sudo and to my dismay I can no longer use veracrypt.

Also if i add PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 to launch options the game wont boot and gives an error about video card not meeting minimum spec.

This is a workaround not a solution. This problem should not be occurring. I only started getting this exception after git pulling updates today. Something else is wrong here and...

Just out of curiosity what filesystem permissions, if any, have you given Bottles? Are they default? For example have you given bottles explicit permission for the custom bottles path?

Those are warnings not errors. Are you unable to perform some task or just noticed those warnings and are reporting them?

I think this would be a useful addition and would simultaneously solve issues such as #3133. I am currently looking into what it would take to implement.
