Sidebearings/Kerning
Font Name (Geist Sans/Geist Mono):
- [x] Geist Sans
- [ ] Geist Mono
Description of the Issue: Some glyph pairs are still unsightly in body copy or simply inconsistently spaced; here are some examples I was able to gather at first glance:
Garden: ‘Ga’ too tight Zanzibar: ‘nz’ too tight Ininiky: ‘i’ not centered between two ‘n’; ‘ky’ too loose Oink/Dingy/Qis: ‘Oi’/‘Di’/‘Qi’ too tight Herxheimer/Mixer/Waxy: loose in front of ‘x’; ‘xy’ jifiltify: ‘ifi’ inconsistent Zauberflöte/Zaubertröte: ‘rf’ loose Waffel: ‘Waf’ inconsistent 81814747873752109746281/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/0/: ‘74’ loose; numbers between slashes inconsistent
With a few adjustments to spacing, Geist Sans could be elevated to a highly professional typeface—I really appreciate the development.
