Submit for review button disappears
Describe the bug
When an editor saves a draft or entry, the Submit for Review button is not visible. I’m working with a multsite Craft CMS and I updates to version 5.8.17 and Workflow version 3.0.11 Before the update, the button was visible. Can you look into this pls? Thanks
Steps to reproduce
Craft CMS version
5.8.17
Plugin version
3.0.11
Multi-site?
Yes
Additional context
No response
Just to be clear, the submission widget will only appear for editors on a draft. If you're viewing a published, live entry, and the editor only has permission to save drafts, then the widget won't appear until you've clicked the button to create the draft.
Hello Josh,
Thanks for your email.
I have a question regarding the submission of a draft in Craft CMS.
When a student fills out the entry form, the required fields are highlighted. While uploading an asset, the student needs to fill out the alt tag, the title and other required fields. When the student leaves them open, the entry can be submitted through the Workflow plugin.
Do you have an idea how this can be prevented?
The entry can only be submitted as draft in Workflow when everyone required field is filled.
Version Craft CMS: Craft CMS Pro 5.8.19 Version Workflow: 3.0.11
Thanks!
Vriendelijke groet, Kind regards,

Currently looking into this plugin and I have a bit of trouble understanding how this works.
- So I create a new entry and save it with the status "disabled". Now no Review button is showing up.
- When I click on "safe as draft" no review button shows up either.
I don't get it.
Shouldn't there be a "Send to reviewers" button or something as long as the entry doesn't have the status "Live"?
So saving a draft does't enforce any required fields, that's normal Craft behaviour. But as soon as you want to submit it for review, Workflow will enforce those fields to be there, so it's essentially "live-ready". Essentially what we do here.
@kaspar-allenbach Not sure I follow, sorry. Assuming you're an editor, if you create a new entry, it'll be a draft. You can save that draft entry as much as you like, including it being disabled, and at least for me the submission widget remains there.
If you're creating that page with Craft User permissions that allow you to create a published pages (i.e. essentially a non-Workflow editor) then that's going to create a published entry, which the submission widget would indeed dissappear, until you create a new draft, where it'll appear there.
The submission widget on the sidebar or entries doesn't take status into account.
Thank you. Yes my issue was more that I didn't understand how the draft/permission model of craft cms works. Nothing to do with the workflow plugin. I stumbled upon this. Entry Publishing UX Improvements (listing drafts) or this Further improvement to entry workflow UX #7497 which is pretty much in line what I didn't understand. But again. not really related to the workflow plugin which hooks into the draft model. Thanks for your time.
