Site Link Type issue

Describe the bug

When I have a field with with the "Site" link type, the site list appears correctly in the field. However, the first site appears to be auto-selected as it's the first item in the list, but it's actually not selected. I need to select another site, then reselect the first site item for it to work.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a field with only Site as link types.
2. Save the entry with the default site unchanged.
3. The field returns no site, as it's not actually selected.

I can't actually replicate this, but regardless, I'm going to add a placeholder to the list of options, as I don't personally like having the first one auto-selected, as it makes it tricky to determine an empty state.
