Veracrypt console mount password option not working properly

While trying to mount a partition via command line I want to use the --password option but as I have a long and with special characters password, for some reason it doesn't work. If I use the GUI it does work.

The partition to be mounted

Observed behavior

Partition not mounted

Steps to reproduce

1. Open terminal
2. veracrypt --text /dev/sda2 /media/veracrypt1 --pim 0 --keyfiles "" --protect-hidden no --password longpasswordwithexclamationcharacters!!
