Adding a ssh server to allow pre-boot authentication from afar

Open AzaleeBleue opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

I'm using Veracrypt with system encryption on my home computer. I'm controlling that computer remotely through RDP. I can reboot the computer remotely, but pre-boot authentication necessitates to be physically here.

On Linux systems encrypted with dm-crypt, an ssh server can be launch at startup, allowing to authenticate the system remotely.

The same thing with Veracrypt would be a great addition.

I don't think Windows can launch a ssh service before start.

A whole network stack has to be implemented in pre-boot environment for this.

Would like to see this also. I was able to use Dropbear Initial Ramdisk to create a SSH server on boot to allow myself to decrypt my Linux machine (Debian/Ubuntu) remotely.
