Mount Error Issue New: (process:17766): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL
Operation System: Linux Mint 22.1 XFCE-64bit
Yesterday afternoon, VeraCrypt worked perfectly as it had been so for years now.
Today, it didn't mount up the encrypted file printing out a error message instead:
$ sudo veracrypt -t --mount /home/user/Data/Work.vc /media/user/work_directory/
(process:17766): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 08:16:45.573: g_object_get: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
double free or corruption (out)
Aborted
I'm just guessing that one of the today's update may broke it. So, I attached the recently installed updates my machine has got since 1st of August 2025. I hope it helps, if I'm right about accusing one or more of those updates on 6th of August 2025.
PS. The PPA of "inut193/encryption" is added to my system, so VeraCrypt should be up to date.
I would bet
xdg-desktop-portal/xia 1.20.0+ds-2ubuntu1 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.18.4-1ubuntu2.24.04.1]
package's recent update is the naughty criminal.
Linux Mint 22.2 Zaza \n \l XFCE4 Still the same issue.
