VeraCrypt password prompt not visible on taskbar, and cannot be moved across monitors
Expected behavior
- VeraCrypt password prompt window (e.g. when opening an encrypted volume or launching the app) should be visible in the Windows 11 taskbar as a running window.
- Window should be movable using
Win + Arrow keysto other monitors. - If the window opens on a disconnected or inactive screen, there should be a way to bring it into view.
Observed behavior
- The VeraCrypt password prompt does not appear on the Windows taskbar.
- It cannot be selected or moved with
Alt+TaborWin+Arrowkey shortcuts. - If the prompt opens on an inactive monitor (e.g. another PC uses the main display via KVM), it's effectively inaccessible.
- This forces the user to minimize all windows to locate the prompt or physically switch displays.
Steps to reproduce
- Open VeraCrypt normally, or mount a volume that triggers the password prompt.
- Observe that no icon appears on the taskbar for the prompt window.
- Try using
Win + LeftorWin + Rightto move the window to another screen — it does not work. - Use a multi-monitor setup where the main display is inactive or in use by another device — the prompt may open off-screen and cannot be interacted with.
Screenshots
(Screenshot not available due to the window being invisible or inaccessible)

Confirm this issue can sometimes become a major annoyance as the password prompt can end up behind other windows, and there is no way to bring it to the top as it doesn't show up in the taskbar, and the only solution is to minimize every other window until you get to the password prompt.
