System crashes when clicking on the Veracrypt icon in the system tray since KDE 6 (X11)

Veracrypt starts normally; you mount a volume and then click the small x in the top right corner, and the program minimizes to the system tray. At some point, you might want to mount another volume or unmount the mounted volume, so you click the Veracrypt icon in the tray. At that point, the entire system might crash. The keyboard also stops working, so you can't even shut down the system gracefully using the tty command or restart the display manager.
It doesn't necessarily happen every time you click the icon. It might work fine for a while, but it will happen eventually.
Back then, I was still using CachyOS and X11 as my window system. My workaround was to hide the icon in the system tray and pin Veracrypt to the regular tray instead. And instead of using the small x, I used the minimize icon to minimize it to the tray. (Because if you x-hide it and then restart it, "Veracrypt is already running" appears and you have to confirm this window first.) At some point - I think after a Veracrypt update - I tried it again, and strangely*, it worked again; you could permanently use the Veracrypt icon in the system tray without any problems.

Unfortunately, I can't provide any reliable information about running it with Wayland, as I don't use it for other reasons. However, I seem to remember, that the Veracrypt icon wasn't even displayed in the system tray under Wayland. So, you were forced to pin it to the normal tray, if you wanted it there permanently.
