Quick format container stuck at 100%. Despite reboot the deleted file is not regained as free disk space.

I have an FDE disk. I made a new container inside, pressed quick format, it got stuck for too long with no disk usage reported. I rebooted, did disk repair reported successful, deleted the container file, but did not regain the disk space. My unused 1TB disk now has 10GB free and no files in it according to Treesize.

Updated W10 22H2, updated Veracrypt.

EDIT: CHKDSK reports corrupted files. Despite saying its fixed, it finds these corrupted files each times I run repair:

File and folder verification is complete.

Windows has made corrections to the file system.
No further action is required.

EDIT2: I have reformatted and won't use quick format. Ever. Again. :)

That is a bug reported too. If you use quick format for container the GUI got broken and the system will format normally as the option quick format was not checked. Resulting in a normal full format with the status bar at 100% the entire time. In your case this is just a extension of it behaviors(bug) so.

Edit: Ignore me, seems to be a Windows only feature and documentation is not up-to-date.

~~Quick format shouldn't be possible for (outer) file containers, as per documentation:~~

~~https://veracrypt.fr/en/Creating%20New%20Volumes.html~~ ~~Note that Quick Format can only be enabled when encrypting partitions/devices.~~

~~If it gives you the option to do that, it would be a bug. I couldn't replicate it on my Linux system.~~

I didn't tested it in Linux only on Windows. I should test it and the GUI Quick Format volume in Linux.
