Could not read EFI error

Open pnxl opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Description

Hi,

  • I installed elementaryOS on a .vhd file and I tried booting it from Ventoy.
  • It returns with
System BootOrder not found. Initializing defaults.
Could not read \EFI\: Invalid Parameter
Error: could not find boot options: Invalid Parameter
start_image() returned Invalid Parameter
  • And repeats itself for 3 times until it goes back to Ventoy screen.

To Reproduce

  • Install OpenCore bootloader.
  • Install elementaryOS with VirtualBox
  • Enable EFI in VirtualBox settings.
  • Boot a elementaryOS from a .vhd.vtoy file.

UEFI Settings

  • Fast boot disabled
  • Secure boot disabled

Additional information

  • dmsetup and grub-pc-bin installed.
  • vtoyboot.sh installed.
  • Booted Ventoy from OpenCore bootloader, if that makes a difference

Works if booting directly from system boot menu instead of Opencore, but I think this issue shouldn't be ignored because booting from Opencore makes it a bit easier.
