Refind compatibility

I am using refind to switch between linux and windows on boot. One of the good things about refind is that it can find other, unregistered bootable media automatically. I tried switching to a ventoy drive and it worked, but for some reason only linux based ISOs work in that setup. If I boot directly from the ventoy drive everything works as it is supposed to. Does anyone have any idea what is the problem here? I would really like it to work directly so I can switch into any system on a whim.

Note: WinPE based utilities do not even show a CLI and immediately crash back to ventoy menu or show a message stating this image does not support UEFI

rEFInd would also add touch support.
