What happened?

CentOS 7 has reached end of life on June 30, 2024. Furthermore, CentOS is absolutely not suitable for desktop usage.

It is better to update the build environment to a modern distro (such as Debian 11/12, Ubuntu 22.04/24.04) which has a much wider usage in desktop GNU/Linux users.
