What happened?
Debian 12 Not boot at all.Only Black screen
Net Install Version fail, but live version ok
Debian 12.1.0 isos both live (tested kde) and netinst do not work. They seem to be unable to mount the installation media to continue installing once booted into the graphical (and text) installers.
The kde live iso, when trying to start the live session, complains about a bad shim.
Dell Latitude 5491, 8th gen i7, UEFI plus secure boot.
Just checked and hashes match.
I get the same problem. I found the root cause is that the iso file is broken. So it's recovered after I re-transfer the file and checksum to ensure it's right.
Can confirm that Debian 12.2 Live (debian-live-12.2.0-amd64-standard.iso
) boots just fine. Ventoy 1.0.96.
Having the same issue, locks up after the keyboard, tried getting the 12.2 installed to see if that's the issue and it still locks up.
Still doesn't work
Doesn't work how and which one (installer, live) exactly? Provide meaningful error reports.
Here is an example of a netinstall ISO that doesn't work for me. Doesn't mount install ISO and locks up keyboard on emergency shell: https://devuan-cd.sedf.de/devuan_excalibur/installer-iso/devuan_excalibur_6.0-202406250952_amd64_netinstall.iso
Bios boot or UEFI?
BIOS boot But I found a related issue for ISO mentioned by me: https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/issues/2696 So it seems I'm in the wrong issue, sorry! I just came across this issue as debian and devuan share a lot of code, so problem might be related.
