What happened?

Recently I found that Ventoy cannot unlock LUKS2 + PBKDF2 partition and found it still stuck in version 2.04.

Are there any plans to upgrade the GRUB version?

Also if possible, I recommend attaching the grub-improved-luks2-git patch from AUR, which supports Argon2.

For LUKS2 support, as grub-improved-luks2-git is based on the master branch of GRUB, I think it's better to follow the steps from the article Gentoo Configuration Guide: Full Disk LUKS2 with GRUB and systemd, which is based on the current release 2.06 and more distro-agnostic.

There are three patches:

Ventoy does not support any kind of disk encryption. Ventoy depends on the file's location on the disk and map these blocks to a virtual device. https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/issues/604

Perhaps I did not describe in detail: I selected "preserve space at end of disk" during installation and set the LUKS2 encrypted volume in it, then tried to boot it with Ventoy Menu Extension Plugin. So updating the GRUB version in Ventoy will solve this problem (GRUB 2.06 partially supports LUKS2)

@ventoy

+1 for this feature.

Actually it's OK to be on grub2 git branch , Arch Linux's grub is always on latest git commit without any critical issue

So please update to latest one.
