What happened?
VentoyGUI.x86_64 did not run on wayland (sway). The log says
DISPLAY not exist((nil)). Not in X environment.
(sometimes there is a hex number instead of nil).
Ventoy2Disk.sh works with no problem.
in #1392, however, it seems to be working on wayland, but maybe not sway. So, what is the current status of wayland support? Can you clear that out in the documentation/wiki? Is wayland going to be supported more in the future?
The reason it is working on #1392 (the reporter uses Mutter, the GNOME window manager) and not on your side is that Mutter comes installed with XWayland (most of the times), which allows X applications to run under a wayland window manager, and sway doesn't.
Installing XWayland should fix the problem as a workaround.
I have xwayland installed (on arch linux) and it ventoy still cannot start. The main problem is probably that ventoy demands to run as root, but this is not allowed under wayland.
