No Audio - Failed to open audio device: Could not connect PulseAudio stream

Open screwyse opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Hello,

I'm on a Raspberry pi 4B and I use LibreElec 11+ (Nexus) and the v0.4.4 of the moonlight-qt addon.

Audio doesn't work for me here but works well in kodi. My default configuration output in kodi is PULSE: Default, Bluetooth Audio (PULSEAUDIO) but I've tried with all the other output in Kodi (ALSA). Each output works fine in Kodi but not in moonlight.

Here is my moonlight-qt.log moonlight-qt.log

I'v read most of the issues about it but it doesn't helped me so...please help me

Thanks in advance

Can you send your /storage/.kodi/kodi.log when you try your pulseaudio device?

Did you select a specific pulseaudio device in Kodi? The plugin tries to select the "default" device:

2024-08-08 19:40:31.253 T:5799 info <general>: Launching moonlight-qt: systemd-run --setenv=ADDON_PROFILE_PATH="/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.program.moonlight-qt" --setenv=PULSE_SINK="Default" bash /storage/.kodi/addons/plugin.program.moonlight-qt/resources/bin/launch_moonlight-qt.sh

No I didn't. I have only one pulseaudio device. Here is my audio device list :

ALSA: Default (vc4-hdmi-0 MAI PCM i2s-hifi-0 () ALSA: vc4-hdmi-0 (), MAI PCM i2s-hifi-0 ALSA: vc4-hdmi-0 (vc4hdmi0), MAI PCM i2s-hifi-0 ALSA: vc4-hdmi-0 (vc4hdmi0), CAS CASIO-PJ on HDMI PULSE: Default, Bluetooth Audio (PULSEAUDIO)

And if you do select one?

I am experiencing this exact same issue. To answer your last question, selecting one of the other sources does work, but the real issue here is trying to get bluetooth audio to work. As the only available source for the bluetooth device (as can be seen in @screwyse's list of devices) is the "PULSE: Default, Bluetooth Audio (PULSEAUDIO)" source, and this particular source as they described outputs audio fine in kodi, but nothing in moonlight.

Hm, need to check if pulseaudio is running when moonlight is started. Usually pulseaudio is used on desktop environments but on libreelec it may be tied to Kodi and shuts down when Kodi is stopped.
