Hives new probability
I noticed, that with Rampant3.0 the probability to encounter hive decreased. As written in changelog for non-resource areas its chance was divided by 200+ times - that's great. But looks like for resource areas it also diminished. For example I created new sandbox map, set evolution to 90% and I can hardly find a hive once per approx. 3 (three) inhabited resource zones. In Rampant 1 and Rampant 2 it was a must for resource areas. Is it done intentionally? I didn't get the idea behind FACTO-54. If yes, then will hives appear during enemy base upgrades?
For non-resourced chunks the hive rate is roughly 2 per 1000 spawners. Resources chunks are 200 per 1000 spawners are hives.
FACTO-54 had to do with how attracted groups where to resource patches for settling and what conditions they should immediately settle or keep looking.
Hives shouldn't appear during enemy base upgrades.
Thank you! Probably it was some bad luck in sandbox game. It was definitely much less than 20% of spawners for resource chunks. I'll try to generate another map. In my actual game with 38% evolution I had no luck to find a single hive so far and they look so mysterious with transparent coloring now.
Tried new sandbox map with 50% evo. Got enough hives with not big probability difference between resource and common chunks. Probably because common chunks with range increase from starting point contain more and more spawners. As I don't know a scientific method to make not subjective calculations I have to stop here :-)
There was an issue with initial chunk scanning not setting resources on a chunk before doing initial spawner upgrades.
Fixed! Thank you! Now I see much more hives in resource chunks if compare to no-resource chunks in new sandbox game.
Hives shouldn't appear during enemy base upgrades.
It is not true since Rampant 3.3.0. Biters spawner nest is replaced by hive during entity upgrade. Should it be this way now?
